2dp5dt

How has it only been two days since my transfer?

MAKE.  TIME.  GO.  FASTER.

I feel fine today...much unlike the past two days where I didn't want to get off the couch and needed to go lie down for a nap every few hours.  I'm not sure if that means anything other than the fact that I had to go to work today.  And by "work" I mean the place where I obsessively google "symptoms 2dp5dt."

There is this weird thing going on with my stomach but that's been happening since before retrieval.

I look way pregnant.  My belly is distended and I have to adjust my rack when I go to give myself a shot (i.e. I can no longer see my stomach by just looking down).  I feel like it's getting bigger even though I haven't gained any weight.  In fact, I've lost a couple of pounds since egg retrieval day.  I know I was at risk of getting OHSS but I think mine is just a pretty mild case because I pee freely throughout the day and don't have any of the other side effects.  I've been wearing this fake t-shirt bottom for over a week now.  It's similar to the belly band I guess but it's designed to wear under your shirts so that there's no gap between your pants and shirt.  It came in a package of two at CVS if you're in the market.  I've been wearing it over my pants pulled up around my gut.

Now onto the pee sticks.  I had 40 Wondfos calling my name so I decided to test today to see where if my trigger shot was.  It came up a real squinter, which is totally fine since it's to early to be producing hcg.  I almost didn't take a picture of it because I've been down this crazy road of pee stick comparison before.

Then I remembered that I would be annoyed if I didn't have the stick to compare to tomorrow's stick so here it is.  It's now nine days past trigger and my trigger likes to give me faint positives for 12 days so now I know it's still kicking.  This wasn't FMU or anything.

Stay tuned for more episodes of As the Pee Stick Turns....

Testing....My Willpower

I am currently 8 days past my second IUI and happily I can report that I'm a LOT less paranoid this time around.  I have a ton of doubts about this cycle - for reasons I still haven't blogged about - but I've realized there's literally nothing I can do to make it work or not work so I'm going to save myself the stress.

Or at least I'm going to try.

Last time around I thought it would be really fun to pee on a stick even though I had an hcg trigger shot.  I tested positive on the day of the trigger, seven days after the trigger, and ten days past the trigger.  On the eleventh day I went out of town for what should have been a fun, even romantic distraction from the two week window.  Alas, I brought my pee sticks with me and continued to test positive up until the twelfth day after the trigger shot!  From my research it looked like most women test out their triggers by the 10th day so I was very excited.

Later that same night, however, I wiped and found bright red bleeding and lost my ever loving mind.  A test taken in a bathroom at a bar near Times Square showed my first negative and it was followed by another negative the next morning.  Some vacation, huh?

Now that I know, however, that I metabolize the hcg shot very slowly I have resolved to not pee on a stick until at least 13 days after the trigger shot, which isn't until Sunday.  That will only be 12 days after my IUI so it may still be too early to get a positive but at least my chances of a false negative are greatly reduced.

That's the plan anyway.  Here's hoping I can stay sane until then.

I'm Going CRAZY in the Two Week Window

I'm distracted, frantic, paranoid, hopeful, excited, annoyed, depressed, anxious, happy, sad, hot, cold, sick, fine, tired, etc.

And I still have to get through:

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

Monday

Until Tuesday when I'll know for sure what's going on.

But in the meantime, does the second picture look like the line got darker? My trigger has never left my system. I'm 10 days past trigger and 9 days past IUI. The top pic is from first morning urine and the second is from this afternoon. WDYT?

Come on One Line!

Seven days past hcg trigger and 6 days past my first IUI and I'm still getting positive tests. I need to see a negative before I can believe a positive. It's getting fainter at least.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Who knew a positive pregnancy test could be so annoying?

Spotted: The Internet Message Board Phenomenon

I sometimes post but mostly lurk on a bunch of different internet message boards relating to trying to conceive. I do get a lot of good information from these boards and get to interact with some kindred spirits, but for the most part, they can be infuriating. From the trollers who post constant "omg my boobs hurt, am I pregnant?" to the old timers who thinks no one is allowed to be discouraged about their efforts to get pregnant if they haven't undergone as much turmoil as them.

After a month of lurking, I guarantee you have seen every single post you will ever see so much so that not only do you feel like a friggen Doctor of Medicine, your days start to feel like Ground hog's Day. Some people are in the two week window and freaking out! Some people got their BFP and were SO shocked! How can they tell their husband in a cute way? Ad infinitem.

But today, something happened that actually surprised me. A girl had posted that she was going to the doctor to talk about why she hadn't gotten her period in 70 days when every single stick she peed on said she wasn't pregnant. Now, this is something that happens a lot. Shit, it's happened TO ME. Usually you get a script for Provera and sent on your way.

Not this girl though. She showed up at her doctor and was given a pee test. Bam. Pregnant.

She is the luckiest girl in the universe. What's even better if she didn't even know she was pregnant for the past who knows how long, five weeks maybe. So she gets to magically skip the first month of freaking out.*

Girl on the Internet, you give me hope.

*Okay, for real, I guess I would be scared to not have known I was pregnant for a month, especially if I were hitting the crack pipe, but here's hoping everything is okay.

Statistics That Are Meaningless

I am 9 days past ovulation.

Fertility Friend says that 15% of positive pregnancy tests reported by their users are reported on or before 9 days past ovulation.

If you want to analyze your results even further, they have graphs broken down by brand of pregnancy test and how many days past ovulation they were taken.

Did you know that 17% of pregnancy charts report a negative test being taken before a positive test? That statistic could either give you hope that your negative test result will turn positive or convince you that there are a bunch of smug women out there who were content to wait for their test results.

Fertility Friend even has a more detailed study about pregnancy tests in which they report:

Testing for pregnancy when trying to conceive is a sensitive issue. The
emotional toll of repeated negative results is hard to imagine for those who
have not experienced it. At the same time, waiting throughout the luteal phase
to know the outcome of your cycle can be agony. For these reasons, knowing when
to expect reliable results is extremely important, both to preserve your
emotional state and to save money by not testing too early.

The statement about money is completely irrelevant to me because I have 50 Wondfo Pregnancy Test Strips purchased for apprximately 19 cents a pop. It may, however, be too late to preserve my sanity.

I tested this morning. Big Fat Negative (BFN).

Did you know there are entire web sites out there to looking at other people's pregnancy tests and determining whether or not you can actually see a line? No? You must be a sane person.

There's no room for you here.
