8dp5dt: Still Apparently Pregnant

Sorry to leave everyone hanging yesterday. I'm still in a state of disbelief about my pregnancy status. I'm out of town visiting my younger sister. I was able to tell her in person while video chatting with my mom. Unfortunately my mother and older sister ruined my announcement by telling me it was too early and they needed it confirmed by the doctor before they could be happy.

My older sister even told me that she waited ten weeks to announce her pregnancy and I should have done the same because "it can go away." she has since apologized.

I really don't care what they believe. Today, I am pregnant and for that I am grateful.

Look at this dark plus sign. It had barely dried.

  1. So happy for you! Sorry that your family is not being super supportive. I think all of us in the infertile community know that it could go away, we know of enough stories at many more weeks than 10. Regardless, it is a time to celebrate!

  2. I am sorry that anyone has tried to steal your joy. Weather or not it "goes away" (which is a horrible thing to say), it is YOUR news to share. Your joy to feel. Your strength to demonstrate. They should feel honored that you shared this with them so early on and not judge you. Sorry. This is not my place to say my feelings either but I feel strongly for you. XOXO. Hope your beta is strong.

  3. I'm so sorry you had these reactions. It really pisses me off. This is an amazing time for you. This is YOUR time and YOUR baby. You are pregnant TODAY. That was my mantra for several weeks. I hope that you've found the happiness and excitement in this community that makes you smile and a little more excited. I hope everything continues to go well.

  4. You already passed the biggest hurdles of implantation, so hang onto that! I was able to see a heartbeat by 6 weeks 4 days and even 6 weeks 1 day before, and after that the success rate is usually 97%...so just embrace the joy and look forward to beta day and then your first scan! I'm soooooo excited for you!
