Welcome IComLeavWe!

Welcome to all participants of IComLeavWe!

First of all, I don't have a blogging name for myself. I'm thinking on it. Any ideas? Cat Mom? That's a little corny.

My blog is pretty new. I started it because I wanted to find a comprehensive list of fiction books that featured a character trying to conceive. That's still a work in progress. Then I figured I would talk about my own journey while I was at it.

I am recently diagnosed with PCOS and I'm trying to get pregnant. As soon as AF shows up we're going to start my first monitored cycle.

But enough about that stuff. Tell me about you! I admit I've checked out almost all of the participants in this month's list but if you don't mind, can you answer a few basic questions for me to get this party started?

1. What's your (blog) name? Your partners?

2. Baby boy name you like? Baby girl?

3. Favorite book you've read?

4. Are you city or country or somewhere in between?

5. If you had $200 and had to spend it right away, what would you do with it? And don't say anything boring like pay bills!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

  1. HI!!

    To answer your questions:

I don't have a blog name, my name is Megan and my husbands name is Matt and my blog is @ myjourneytogetfitandbattlepcos.blogspot.com

Baby Boy Name- Hmmm I like Ethan and Ian my hubby does not
    Girls- Kennedy, McKenna, Emilyn

Favorite Book- Gone with the Wind-always a classic

We are country folk, farmers to be exact!

If I had $200, hmmm I think we would go out to a nice dinner, since we are trying to cut back on eating out to save money and probably a little shopping too!

Looking forward to getting to know you as well!

  2. Cat Mom is a bit too bland ... how about Pussy Parent?

I've commented here before but now it's official for ICLW!

I'm Elizabeth and my husband is Gilles.

We've never really talked about names, but it would have to be something we like the pronunciation of in both our languages (English and French).

I just reread the Anne of Green Gables series, my favorite books when I was young, and was really struck by the part where her baby dies. I didn't really pay much attention to that as a kid.

We live in a small city that it is full of culture but close to some pretty incredible nature. Best of both worlds.

If I had $200 right now, I'd book a night in a nice little hotel somewhere quiet.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your story and cheering you along!

  3. Hi! I just found your blog and LOVE your writing style! I find myself laughing one minute & tearing up another! I just started blogging this past Jan as well & it has been very therapeutic for me!

I'm Infertile625 but my real name is Heidi & my hubs is Steve.

Favorite baby names..... Hmmmm.... Changes often.... Olivia or Ava. I also like Claire & Charlotte. Boys - Charlie after my dad.

I'm a big Hemmingway fan. I love A farewell to arms. I'm a hopeless romantic.

I live in the big city but am moving to the country April/May. We just bought a house, across from a cow farm and around the corner from a chicken farm. Oh the smells I have to get used to!

$200 to blow... I do love to go out to dinner but maybe some new clothes.

What about you? Do you have a booklist yet? Would love to see it!

    1. Hi Heidi, here's my list in progress of the books about trying to conceive. I haven't found that many fiction books yet. Maybe I'll write my own one day.

      http://thepussypalace.blogspot.com/2012/01/novels-about-trying-to-conceive-list-in.html

I'm going to review some books about pregnancy that I read too since I couldn't wait to read them.

  4. Ah ha - my first IComLeavWe post! So...

My blog is http://operationbaby2012.wordpress.com/ and is very new too. I haven't got myself a blog name yet...but my partner is L.

Boys name I'd probably rate Sebastian and girls name Audrey (for now, my top three of each take turns).

I've never been able to pick a favourite book, I love too many, but I've recently re-read the Shipping News which I absolutely love.

City all the way for me.

If I had $200 I'd definietely copy Elizabeth and take myself away to a lovely secluded hotel.

  5. I from IComLeavWe!

My blog is pretty new, too. I just go by Jen (there are enough of us out there to maintain some anonymity), and I call my husband "Hubs" in the blog. I'm at www.mybumovaries.blogspot.com. Thanks for the stop by earlier!

Baby names... ah, Hubs and I spent like 3 hours in the car one day last summer thinking of our favorite names before we new I had Premature Ovarian Failure. Those were the days. I love the name Ethan or Blake for a boy and Alison or Judith for a girl.

Favorite book? That's impossible. Some of my favorites are "The Historian," "Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Catcher in the Rye" and anything by Bill Bryson.

I live in the 'burbs, but I'd take city over country any day!

With $200, I'd buy some new running clothes for the summer and stock up on yoga gear!

  9. Hello! I love that you started a book list with characters trying to conceive. I've just been thinking that I couldn't think of any book or movie (other than the surprisingly moving montage in Up) that I've read, seen or heard of that featured a character trying to conceive or dealing with infertility. I'll definitely be following your list as you post new books and reviews. As for your questions:

    1. I'm Vivian and my blog is Inconceivable! I refer to my husband as DD (on the Internet, not in real life).

    2. Evan and Penny (or Charlotte).

    3. The Little Book and The City of Thieves. Though currently reading The French Lieutenant's Woman and loving it.

    4. City

    5. Fancy dinner or purse.

  10. 1. My blog name is "DogMomChasingTheStork" and I refer to my husband as Hubster.

    2. I have too many faves to list them all, but here are the top ones:
Boy- Jonathan (I looove Jon-Jon for a nickname) and Brandon
    Girl- Olivia and Kaitlyn

    3. I'm an avid reader so I can't choose one "favorite." I'll just mention the last series I read that I was completely enthralled in was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

    4. CITY!!!! I love camping and hiking, but I have to live in the city. I also live just 10 short miles away from downtown.

    5. MAKEUP!!!! I only just recently started to LOVE makeup, but I have fallen hard. ;-)

Good luck with this upcoming cycle and I look forward to your updates!

  12. Hi! I'm a pretty new blogger, too. Looking fwd to following your journey!

    1. I go by Kate (hubby is called "Riggo" after his favorite football hero) and my blog is InfertileFirstmom.

    2. We like sort of unusual names, but can't agree on too many! So far for a girl we love Cosette (Cosy) or Ida, for a boy we can only agree on Owen (I know, not so original, right?) or Elias (Eli) so far.

    3. Too many to say just one, but loved Ahab's Wife, A Natural History of the Senses, and The Chronicles of Narnia are lifelong favorites!

    4. Country with big city nearby! Love the best of both worlds!

    5. New clothes/shoes and a night out with my Hubby... Hmmm, maybe a spa day! Or a new kitchen toy! Obviously I may have some problems deciding how to spend my $200...

  13. Thanks for your comment on my blog!

    1. I go by Ducky and my hubby is L for Leonard, from the Big Bang Theory (and no his name is not Leonard in real life :)

    2. Leaning towards Nicholas for a boy and Josephine for a girl. We've had years to figure it out and it still changes from time to time.

    3. I love The Outlander series.

    4. Are you city or country or somewhere in between?

I'm a country girl who grew up and went to school in a big city. I used to get told I looked like I was from Idaho. What does that even mean?

    5. Probably shoes!
